Our ponies

We had great fun trying to solve the Pony Puzzle.
Look at the strange horses we have found!

Sam Loyd wrote that people all over the world laughed for such a long time looking at the grotesque shapes of horses obtained. More than a billion copies of the puzzle were sold.

Second Autumn Riddle: solution

Let's reveal the solution of the second Autumn Riddle. The proposed quiz was:
After printing the picture, carefully cut the six pieces out, and then reassemble them into the best possible picture of a horse!

So, what is the solution?

It is a famous puzzle, the Pony puzzle, created by Sam Loyd (1841-1911). The six black pieces are only a trick and a trap. As a matter of fact, the pieces must be placed in order to form a white horse inside, as the picture shows.
If you want to have an idea of Loyd's huge production, you can consult the Cyclopedia of 5000 Puzzles, published by his son in 1914 and available free in the Internet in its unabridged version.

Our last video

Our last collaborative video is ready. It concerns the numbers properties discovered by Pythagoreans. Just like last time, the script is based on the text that our Italian partners created. We would like to help them very much.
The video can be seen here.

New videos on the Pythagorean school

Liceo Duni’s students from Matera have published two videos on Pythagora and his school. Filming the videos was a wonderful experience. The students worked hard in all the phases. You could take a look to the slideshow of the backstage and to the story of the shooting on our magazine!

Final Flashmeeting

Our final flashmeeting was a moment to remember. The students  and teachers from Liceo Classico Duni, Matera, and School no. 195, Bucharest, presented themselves and their town, shared their thoughts and feelings about the project, exchanged souvenirs, played a "fraction hunt" game and sang together. Laughter, images, friendship and songs over half a continent. Then, it was time to say good-bye to our project, but not to our partners.

Thank you and keep in touch!
